Ever since the new Cricut Maker machine came out and I found this project in Design Space I have wanted to create some finger puppets for my baby bestie (my bestie's baby).
SO cute right? |
It has basically been my sole goal since she was born to get her to say my name... and now she does! She's still working on a few others (like my husband, Sam) so I thought it would be fun to create personalized finger puppets adorned with all of our faces for her to learn and play with!
I LOVE the way they turned out! I was able to create them using the pattern fill function... it's one of my favorite features and since I do mostly print then cut projects, I use it for just about every project. If you've never used it, I made this video to show you how!

SUPPLIES
- Inkjet Printer (This is the one I use)
- Cricut® Printable Fabric
- Felt
- Glue Gun
- Sewing Machine (This is the new one that I got for Christmas and LOVE)
- Cricut Maker
Here is the project in Design Space if you'd like to make your own! Simply copy and paste as many as you need! Once you're happy with the way your project looks, you're going to print it on Cricut® Printable Fabric.
I was so happy with how they printed. I'll be honest, I was a bit skeptical of how it would print on the fabric, but they looked GREAT!
Once they're printed... cut it using your Maker!
For each finger puppet, I also cut out two pieces of felt... one for each side. The Maker cuts through felt so wonderfully!
Once everything was cut, I peeled up each piece of printable fabric (they're adhesive on the back) and stuck them each on a piece of felt.
Then I took them over to my glue gun and glued them around the outside, leaving the bottoms open. I wasn't sure how durable the printable fabric adhesive would be so I also went ahead and, using my sewing machine, sewed around the outside of the puppets and created this totally custom (and totally ADORABLE) finger puppets!
While she didn't quite understand the concept of finger puppets just yet, she loved them!
*Side note*
My bestie has reported back that if the printable fabric gets wet, it does not hold up, so just keep that in mind, especially if you're like her and also have a drooling little one haha.

Awesome project. I have owned my Maker for months and have not tried any fabric projects yet. #SAD. But this project might be my first 😊
