This past weekend was my birthday and since I had SO much fun getting crafty for my birthday last year, I decided to do it again this year!
Last year we made dream catchers but this year I wanted to do something different. I recently started following Olivia of Atiliay and fell in love with her work. And not only, does she have amazing work, part of her proceeds supports work in relieving hunger, fighting poverty, and helping our furry friends! Crafting with a cause?! I'm sold!
Once I decided that this was what I wanted to do for my birthday, I started looking at Olivia's workshop calendar... then I noticed, she also did private workshops! I'll be honest, I expected the private workshops to be a lot more pricey, but they weren't at all! AND the host is FREE for a private workshop! Happy birthday to ME! Haha.
I'm sure you've all heard the Taylor Swift Song "22", well, this year that song was my birthday mantra (+10). I made a banner and a cake topper to tie it in and stuck to my standard peach, mint and gold color scheme.
Olivia set up the table and no detail was missed! Each guest had a custom hand lettered placecard, a workbook, tools, a eucalyptus sprig and even a bag to take it all home in!
SO cute, right?
As always, a Sweet & Saucy cake was a must (with a Not So Cli-Shea topper, duh). I told them I'd be using this collection of party goods and they made a cake to perfectly match!
(Just like they did for me with this gorgeous cake last year)
One of my biggest issues when hosting parties is that, more often than not, I buy too much food. For this party I decided to keep it simple with just some cheeses, meats, crackers and fruits and it worked out perfectly. (Plus, I was looking for an excuse to bust out this gorgeous cheese board that I recently found at Home Goods.)
Olivia was such a wonderful teacher and really has a hands on approach, giving every guest individual attention and demonstrations. We all had so much fun.
I had such a wonderful time with all of my friends. A big huge thanks to Olivia for making this birthday such a success!
